February 13: Longest Day

Nate and I got up early in the morning to go shopping at a Menards in Eden Prairie that was going out of business. Doh, they would move all of the big ticket items to a new store before they marked everything down 40%. We should have known. Oh well, we got a bunch of random little things and a garage door!!! That was a great deal. Then we went to Home Depot and got a new fan for the living room.

We went back to the house and Mom and Dad had painted the living room brown teepee. Success!!! It looked way better. Everyone was relieved.

I worked on scraping the wallpaper in the laundry room. Nate and Dad hung the new fan and the new light fixture!!! The living room and foyer are done and look awesome. I was so excited. Nate and Dad even hung my art! Unfortunately, we used 3M command strip hooks to avoid nail holes and 20 minutes later they fell. At that point, the scaffolding was already put away. Bummer. Guess we'll do nails after all. I was so hoping to have something completed, so I was a little disappointed when the art came crashing to the ground.

Isn't it funny how paint changes in different lighting?
