We knew right away that our windows were not amazing. Someone from American Exteriors had come to our door while Nate was home and wanted to do an in-home presentation and estimate. If we used their company to replace our windows, they would give us a discount and we'd have to put their sign up in our front yard and write a review for their website. We figured we might as well hear them out. They came at 7:30 and started out the presentation by walking us through the quality of their windows and doing a price comparison between their windows and the market average for other companies' windows. Of course they were lower priced and higher quality. He showed us the windows and did an energy efficiency analysis which showed us how much money we could save by putting in better windows. He went through the history of the company and finally got to the estimate part. The estimate was pretty high so we figured out how we could do a few at a time and still get a discount through their program. They stayed until 10! I was so annoyed that it took so long. I still had to pack for our trip to Duluth the next day. We told them we'd think about using their company. Nate and I really never jump on things like that, especially when it involves a lot of money. Nate did some subsequent research and price checking and now we think we'll either go with Wellington or Nate will replace them himself and still qualify us for the tax break. We'll be making a decision on that in the next few months.
